In preparation for the upcoming Small Artworks and Handmade Gift Sale Event on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th, it would be helpful if those submitting work for exhibit and sale would complete the attached form in advance and bring the completed form with you at time of drop off (Saturday, November 27th 1-4 PM or Tuesday, November 30th 9 AM -12 Noon).
Please note that there are three sections on the form that may apply in part or in total to participating artists. The first section is for items to be displayed in the gallery (up to three small pieces per artist) that include title, media, size, and price. The second section is to record miniature 5 X 5 paintings that many of our member artists have been creating and will be donating to raise funds for the Society, and lastly, a third section to capture all the information related to items to be displayed and sold in our "art shop" on tables and racks in and outside the gallery area.
In order to control all incoming work, all pieces also need to include proper identification on the back of each piece that links to the inventory form including artist name, title and or description, and price. Please individually tag jewelry and other small items.
As previously communicated in our Call for Artists and our subsequent correspondence we are looking to have as much affordable art as possible on display and for sale. As a reminder, PAS will be taking a smaller commission on all pieces of art being sold for less than $75.00. The reduced commission rate for all work sold for those donating two or more miniatures will also be 15%. All other work sold at this event will be subject to the standard 25% rate.
If you have racks or bins to display your "art shop prints, photos, unframed originals, etc.", please bring them with you at time of drop off. We will also have additional racks as well if needed.
Also, if you have gift boxes and holiday wrapping paper, ribbon or other materials appropriate for gift wrapping your art work please bring as well as we will be providing complimentary gift wrapping services.
Finally, we are still in need of volunteers for the staffing the event on Saturday and Sunday. See attached volunteer slots that still need to be filled. Let me know if you can volunteer for any of these time slots.

The Princeton Arts Society and the Princeton Branch of the Barre Bank and the Town Administrator at Bagg Hall are proud to present the art work of PAS member, Doris M. Carter. The exhibit of her work with a common theme "Under the Trees" will be on display from November 15th through January 15, 2011. Works in acrylics, watercolor and mixed media are for sale and can be purchased by contacting the artist directly. All proceeds will be donated by the artist to The Worcester County Food Bank.

Small Works Painting Party, Saturday, November 17 at 1:00 at the Center
Come and have some fun painting our small canvases for the Small Works show. Canvases will be available. Bring your own art supplies. Remember that you will pay a lower percentage on your sales at the small works show if you contribute at least two of these to PAS. Refreshments will be provided.

Mary Rowlandson was a Puritan who was held in captivity by the Indians during King Philip's War in 1676. Her husband was the first minister of Lancaster, Massachusetts. During her eleven week captivity Mary Rowlandson traveled through many towns in Massachusetts, and even into New Hampshire and Vermont before she was returned to the English in Princeton.
Discussion and a question-answer time may follow this little-studied period of Early American history. This program is sponsored by the Princeton Historical Society through a grant from the Princeton Cultural Council which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. As the Small Works 2010 Exhibit and Sale nears, it is important that all artists make their preparations for the exhibit and sale and that we fully promote this holiday event and fund raiser.
Attached is the flyer/poster that will be used to announce and promote the event to the public. I would like to thank Beth Mellor for her expertise and skill in helping me create this document. Also thanks to Jean Murphy, Mary and Lou Trostel, Judy Tyler, and Claire Golding for their inputs. We ask that all members forward this flyer to their distribution lists and contacts. We appreciate your assistance in promoting the event!
In regards to marketing the event, we have made contact with the First Congregational Church and will be collaborating on newspaper and radio advertisements. Gina Constantino will be leading this effort in behalf of the Princeton Arts Society. We hope that through this cooperative effort we will be able to increase attendance at both events.
Artists are reminded that we want to fill our space with as much artwork and items appropriate for gift giving as possible. Please refer to the previously distributed Call for Artists communication or for more information call me at 978-464-2952 or email at email@example.com.
Increased advertisement and larger amounts of affordable and beautiful art and gifts will be key to the success of this event.
Finally, I would like to thank those members who have already volunteered to help with this event. Judy Tyler will be creating labels and we have a number of members who have already volunteered to either receive work on drop off dates, hang the show, staff the function during event hours, or release work after the show. We still need additional volunteers, especially for staffing the function. Also we need donations of wrapping materials (paper, boxes, ribbon, etc) as we will be offering gift wrapping services for small items.
And a final word to our non-artist but supporting and sustaining members, we thank you for your support and hope that you will also attend and promote this upcoming event.

John Mirick will talk about "The Changing Landscape of Princeton Over Seven Generations". John's family has been active in settling our Town, and in stewardship of a family farm through slow transition from field to forest, with rising human presence in the world around. In addition to John's talk, there will be a brief business meeting.
The evening starts with a cash bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Wachusett Mountain Ski Area. A ski pass will be raffled as door prize at the end of the evening. Please come and celebrate our common goal of protecting the natural heritage and rural beauty of Princeton through conservation of land and bodies of water that preserve forever the qualities that ake our Town a very special place to live. We can't do it without you.
